Do you have a Leak?

Use the checklist below to check for leaks inside and outside your home

Check your water meter

  1. Locate the low flow indicator on your meter
  2. Turn off faucets, water-using appliances and don’t flush the toilet
  3. Record the water meter reading
  4. Wait for 1 hour
  5. Check the flow indicator. If it is still spinning, you may have a leak
  6. Record the water meter reading – If the meter reading is different from the number you recorded in Step 3, you may have a leak

Toilet leak test

Check if the toilet is leaking using a dye strip or food coloring. Drop the dye strip or 10 drops of food coloring into the tank, wait 30 mins. If you see dye in the bowl, you have a leak. If you don’t see any dye, there is no leak.
